I believe we should discuss the potential for scenarios within the middle east to arise within the very near future. The news today is full of middle east turmoil, leaders are falling to the pressures of protestors / rebels rising up within their countries, all of which started over the last year.

In reviewing the book of Ezekiel 38 we read the following:

(5) "Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; (6) "Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops-many people are with you.

We can read within the verses several countries which in the latter / end days will form a coalition which will come together and invade Israel. The territories controlled by the above countries during Ezekiels writing cover the land from southern Russia south to Israel, east as far as India, and west as far as northern Africa.

In looking at the current middle east turmoil we will clearly see the area spoken of within Ezekiel 38 as the territory under turmoil today. The entire region is moving away from a soft-line Sharia Law moderate governance to a hard-line Sharia Law governance. The mainstream media speaks of the turmoil as moving towards greater freedom and liberty for the peoples of the region, however, all evidence to date clearly shows the heavy influence of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, Middle East  Hezbollah and Al-Qaeda within the territories influencing the protestors / rebels to overthrow the governments.

We must understand for the prophecy within Ezekiel 38 to come to pass the middle east must transition into a strong Sharia Law led Caliphate. The moderate soft-Sharia Law leadership which has ruled the majority of the middle east are for the most part friendly towards Israel, or at best tolerant of Israel's existence. The issues for Israel arose out of the organizations such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and Al-Qaeda all determined to eradicate Israel from the middle east, however, the prophet Ezekiel is clear as to the GOVERNMENTS of the above countries invading Israel. The prophet clearly lists the countries which will attack Israel and within the same verses claims "many people are with you" thus eluding to the fact that even after the government (leaders) of these countries invade Israel, organizations such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and Al-Qaeda will follow, not so much as part of the government but along side the governments (leaders) of these nations.

In reviewing the book of Daniel 8 we read the following;

(23) "And in the latter time of their kingdom, When the transgressors have reached their fulness, A king shall arise, Having fierce features, Who understands sinister schemes. (24) His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; He shall destroy fearfully, And shall prosper and thrive; He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people.

We can read within the above verses that a man (one man) will come upon the scene within the latter / end days and he will destroy many by using sinister schemes and power which is not his own power. This individual will prosper and thrive and destroy the mighty. The above verses depict this individual as a military man, a man who wields power and might militarily. He will also come against the Holy people of which I believe to be Israel.
