In March, PayPal announced the upcoming release of its "Checkout With Crypto" payment service to allow US customers to pay millions of people using digital currencies from their PayPal wallets.

CEO of PayPal announced:

This is the first time you can seamlessly use cryptocurrencies, like a credit or debit card, in your PayPal wallet.

Currently, payments are only possible with four major digital currencies, namely Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin.

“Our global reach, digital payments expertise, two-way network, and rigorous security and compliance controls give us the opportunity and responsibility to help understand, redeem, and interoperability these new tools of exchange. We look forward to working with central banks and regulators around the world to offer our support and meaningfully contribute to shaping the role that cryptocurrencies will play in the future of global finance and commerce.”

Last October (2019), PayPal also made it possible to sell, buy or hold digital currencies through its PayPal wallet, only in the United States.

At the end of October 2021 (late Mehr 1400), this service was also activated for European users.
