The range of general dentistry treatments at Sullivan Dental is available to patients of all ages, and is very much focused on your needs, and your expectations.
We are here to put you at your ease in the dentist’s chair, and so we take time to listen about your dental history, whether you have a specific problem or visit us for a routine check-up, about what you would like us to do, and the outcome you anticipate.
At Sullivan Dental we believe that everyone should have access to high quality dentistry in a relaxed friendly manner. Our experienced team are here to provide a full range of dental treatments and preventative care for you and your family. With more of our patients requesting a wider range of dental treatments and materials we are pleased to be able to offer a range of both medical card, PRSI and private care.
Medical Card Services
The Medical Card or Dental Treatment Services Scheme (DTSS) provides access to free dental treatment for adult medical card – holders, aged 16 years of age and over.
A free oral examination or check-up is available every calendar year, and free emergency dental treatment for relief of pain and infection are available to all eligible patients at Sullivan Dental. This includes 2 fillings per year and all extractions.
Most other treatments require prior approval from the Local Principal Dental Officer with the HSE. Approval is currently being restricted to patients with special needs, high – risk patients and those who have greater clinical needs.
Children under 16 with medical cards are eligible to be seen in their local HSE Dental Clinic.
Whether you need a regular check up, a simple filling or you’re experiencing problems with a painful tooth you will be well looked after. Our Medical card dental service, delivered by experienced professional clinicians, provides the prevention, maintenance and repair treatment you need to keep your mouth and teeth healthy.
PRSI Dental Entitlements
If you pay PRSI contributions, you may be entitled to a free dental exam and subsidised scale & polish.
The Treatment Benefit Scheme is run by the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection. It provides dental, optical and aural services to insured workers, the self-employed and retired people who have the required number of social insurance (PRSI) contributions.
To qualify, you must have paid class A, E, P, H or S social insurance (PRSI) contributions. The amount of social insurance you need depends on your age.
If your spouse, civil partner or cohabitant does not have enough social insurance contributions, he/she may still qualify for Treatment Benefit on your social insurance record. To do this, you must qualify for Treatment Benefit and your spouse, civil partner or cohabitant must be dependent on you, you can collect a form from our practice.
To check if you qualify for treatment, contact the practice with your Personal Public Service (PPS) Number and date of birth.
