Step 1: View Mapped Drives

  • Hit on the Start menu and then look for Settings.
  • Open it and then go to the Sharing tab.
  • Click on the private network option and from there you need to verify the chosen settings.
  • Enable the network discovery.

  • After that, click on Save changes.

Step 2: Map a Network Drive in Windows

Steps For Windows 7 users:

  • Access My computer or My PC from the Desktop.
  • After that, go for the Map network drive tab.

  • You then need to click on a drive letter which is not used yet.
  • After that, hit on Browse and after that locate the network location containing the QuickBooks files.
  • The drive can also be mapped using the server IP address if the UNC path doesn't work.
  • Hit on Finish to create the network drive.
  • Access QuickBooks using the newly mapped drive.

For Windows 8 or 10:

  • Open the search bar.
  • Access This PC.
  • Right-click and select Map a network drive.

  • Choose an unused drive letter and hit a click on Browse.
  • Then, navigate to the location where QuickBooks file is stored.
  • Now click on Ok and then hit on Finish.
  • Try opening QuickBooks with the newly mapped drive.
